This village is known to have its roots in a group of people who came from Ujan Panas Village, Padang Ulak Tanding District, Rejang Lebong Regency, Bengkulu Province.

In an adventure full of challenges and dangers, they explored the wilderness, until finally settling in the land now called Suro Village. Initially, this village was only inhabited by seven houses with around 52 people.

The area was still wild and filled with various wild animals such as tigers and elephants. The predecessors even moved from place to place before finally settling permanently among  As a form of spiritual bond and respect for nature and the land they live on, the ancestors made a vow.

They promised that if one day Suro Village developed and houses were built between the two bridges, then seven buffaloes would be slaughtered as an offering to the earth.

Now, this vow has been fulfilled by the people of Suro Village with a spirit of togetherness.
